Quebec manufacturer of smart devices Sinopé Technologies will see its thermostats receive up to 75% financial assistance as part of the “Save with dynamic pricing” pilot project, which will run from October 23 to December 15, 2023. This initiative aims to reduce energy demand and improve the management of peak consumption during the winter period.
Founded in 2010, the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu company specializes in the design of smart devices focused on energy efficiency for the control of heating, lighting and electrical loads (e.g. water heaters). Sinopé Technologies thermostats – which were recognized by prestigious organizations, including the Consortium for Energy Efficiency and the IoT Breakthrough Awards Program – are already financed by 26 Canadian and American power utilities, including BC Hydro in British Columbia, Puget Sound Energy in Washington State and National Grid in Massachusetts. Sinopé thermostats are recognized, among other things, for their ease of use, quality, and performance. In addition, their unique design, the screen of which displays the time and the indoor, outdoor and set temperatures, is greatly appreciated by users.

In 2021, Sinopé Technologies launched Éco Sinopé, an innovative feature that makes it easy, free and commitment-free to link the operation of Sinopé connected devices to Hydro-Québec’s dynamic pricing. As soon as it was deployed, the feature offered attractive performance by allowing participating customers to obtain an average credit of $191 on their electricity bill (winter 2021-2022). Éco Sinopé provides excellent flexibility to users who can maximize their savings and comfort.
The “Save with dynamic pricing” project is available to all residential customers of the main power utility in the province of Quebec. To be eligible for the mail-in rebate on Sinopé thermostats, customers must register for one of the two dynamic pricing options, download the Neviweb application and activate the Éco Sinopé feature.
All Sinopé brand thermostats intended for electric heating control are eligible for financial assistance. They can be purchased directly from the manufacturer at https://www.sinopetech.com/en/thermostats-pilot-project/ or through an electrical contractor.

Hydro-Québec will process the cash rebate as soon as you activate all the eligible thermostats using the Éco Sinopé feature or 45 days following the purchase of the thermostats, if you have activated only some of them. In such a case, the cash rebate will only apply if at least five thermostats have been activated. Please allow approximately five weeks to receive your rebate by mail.
