What electronic thermostat should I get?

There are many types of electronic thermostats. Some are smart whereas others can be programmable or non-programmable.

Smart home thermostats: the best option

Electronic thermostats for the smart home, like the ones from the Web programmable and Zigbee product lines, are the best for a greater comfort and higher energy savings. These electronic thermostats can be controlled remotely from any smartphone, tablet or computer depending on the management platform used.

Smart home thermostats : the best options

Smart thermostats can be controlled from anywhere, at any time, making it possible to manage the heating consumption with great precision. For instance, you can remotely lower the set temperature if you plan on returning later than expected from the office or reactivate your thermostat while you’re on the road to return to a comfortable home when coming back from vacation.
Heating represents about 54% of your electricity bill. It’s more than half of all the electricity you use at home! Imagine if you could remotely control your heating to reflect your actual needs. You could save so much.

Programmable and non-programmable thermostats

Programmable and non-programmable thermostats can be interesting if you have the same routine every day or if you are willing to lower manually the thermostat setpoint every time you leave the house. Of course, this last option also implies that you will be coming back to a cold house…
In addition to its smart thermostats, Sinopé Technologies also offers options of programmable and non-programmable electronic thermostats.

    Hello,

I am about to buy a new thermostat to serve a total of 15 feet of 240 volt baseboard electric heaters. One 5 foot baseboard heater is in a bedroom. A 4 foot baseboard heater + a 6 foot baseboard heater are attached together in a family room. A new 240 volt thermostat must be rated to serve 3,750 watts at minimum. One #12 jacketed wire (1 black coated wire, 1 white coated wire, and a bare ground are encased in the insulated #12 wire comes from a double 20 watt breaker in the main circuit breaker box to the current thermostat in a hallway. From that location, another #12 wire goes to a bedroom baseboard heater (5 feet long). That wire is wire-nutted to the baseboard heater as well as another #12 wire that goes to the family room, where it connects to a total of 10 feet of baseboard heaters (a 4 foot and a 6 foot). Both the black and the white wires within the #12 wires from the circuit breaker to thermostat, from the thermostat to the bedroom heater, and from the bedroom heater to the family room heaters are all used to create the required connections.

Please let me know whether the capabilities and wiring configuration of your TH1120RF-4000 thermostat is UL rated, and whether it can handle the described heat circuit in my home. Also, can I make my desired heat settings directly at your thermostat upon it being installed on a wall electrical box in my hall, as well as from your smart phone app? If I use an app, can I pull it from your website or from an android app store? Is there a separate charge for the app, or a periodic ongoing fee for it?

Thanks in advance for your courtesy.

    Respectfully,

    Mike Beutz

    Hello,
I have hot water radiant heating, from a oil burning furnace. And heat seperate appartment. I only have 2 wires to the current thermostats. Can any of your systems work and which ones?

    • Isabelle says:

      Hi Tony,
The one you would need would be the low voltage thermostat TH1400RF, but to be compatible, you must have three wires and possibly a relay to recreate the required dry contact.
We don’t have any thermostat that you be compatible with your system out of the box.
